Go Alabama! Roll Tide

My puppy is always there to keep an eye on me as you can see in the picture. I am getting better at disciplining him and I now can be heard yelling “No!” and pointing my finger at him when he is bad. When he is good, I pat him on the head and yell “Goo Bo” which is loosely translated as “Good Boy”. Monty is a big puppy and I sometimes lose sight of that when I play with other puppies. When my neighbor’s dog came over to greet me the other day, I patted her in the same way I pat Monty and yelled “Goo Bo”. Unfortunately, my neighbor’s dog is about 80 lbs lighter than Monty so instead of petting her, I think I was giving her a pretty good beating.

On Saturday, Grandma and Grandpa came over to baby-sit and things went well until bedtime when I threw a fit because Grandma didn’t let me watch my stories before going to sleep.

On Sunday we went to the pool and did some chores. Mommy and Daddy did a little yard work while I took a nap in the afternoon.

Next week we are going to spend a couple of days on vacation with my friend Ella, Aunt Ashley and Uncle Keith. We are traveling to a beach on the coast of Alabama. Go Alabama! Roll Tide.

Father's Day

I love my Daddy soooo much!

(Mommy and Aunt Lori are good too).

Cousin Andrew and I hanging out by the pool.

We went to Grandma and Grandpa’s house for Father’s Day and some swimming. Every time Grandpa sees me in my bathing suit he yells “here comes Esther Williams!”. I think Grandpa must have had a crush on her when he was a kid because I had to look up who she was. It turns out….she is really old…. and probably doesn’t look that great in a bathing suit anymore.

We watched a lot of golf this weekend – it was so exciting. I love to watch TV with Daddy. He always watches sports and my favorite movies with me. Daddy makes me so happy. I love to yell, "Da Da" when I hear the garage door open each evening and I know he is home from work to play with me. I hope you had a great Father's Day Daddy!

Love,

Your Little Holly (Chubby)

Just Another Manic Monday

Due to the rising gas prices Daddy has encouraged Mommy and I to stay closer to home. For example, instead of traveling to the mall, Daddy believes that our unfinished basement offers good times. Instead of going to the zoo to see the pandas, Daddy has encouraged me to play with the bugs in our yard.

In light of this, we planned to go to the pool in our community with my friend Ella and Aunt Ashley. This was going to be a fabulous time until we learned that the pool was closed on Mondays. Luckily though, the YMCA was open so we all went there to go swimming. When we got home, Ella and I had lunch, played with my toys, and ran around the house.

Maybe the YMCA isn’t so bad after all….

Uh-Oh! Spaghetti Os

I had a lot of fun with my Spaghetti O’s. This was a first for me and I enjoyed them very much. As you can see, I made quite a mess. However, the highlight of the day came this evening when I went to Bruster’s for my very first ice cream cone. It was hot here today so the line was pretty long with people yearning for some ice cream.

I had trouble reading the list of flavors so Mommy requested a chocolate ice cream cone for me. Oh, it was amazing! Soft, rich, and creamy ice cream propped up in a wafer cone. I just couldn’t help myself and I destroyed that cone. Look at me in the pictures – I look like a pro.

I’ll definitely be going back there!

Fun at the park and dress up

Picture #1 - "I think he wants to kiss me. Shoot! I wore a dress. I don't have pockets to carry the mase Daddy gave me."

Picture #2 - "This slide is tough to climb up."

Picture #3 - "Climbing was too tough."

Picture #4 - "Ummm, Mom...you take 500 pictures a day and you post one where I am looking at nothing."

Pictures #5 and #6 - "So you think you can dance? - try doing it with a bag of trail mix in your hands."

YMCA

When I was a young girl Mommy and Daddy would take me to the YMCA occasionally. They brought me to the daycare where they would sign me in and hand me over to one of the staff members. I was usually much younger than the other kids but I didn’t mind and I would just sit there, drink my bottle, and watch them play. As I got older I began to play a little by myself. Mommy and Daddy would then go workout and come back to get me in 45 minutes or so. With no disrespect toward The Village People, recently I have grown less fond of the YMCA. I am not sure why but right now it appears to be the quickest way to turn me into a crying mess on the cusp of hyperventilation. Yesterday was no different but my screaming must have been extra crazy because they summoned Mommy from the gym to take me away. As soon as she came I clung to her neck and didn’t let go until we left. I was very sad.

After my long nap (crying is exhausting) we went to the Vet to get Monty some more thyroid medication because nature intended dogs to receive thyroxin twice a day.

Last night we went to Chipotle for some burritos. It was my first trip to Chipotle and while I am too small to stuff a burrito in my mouth, I did have some rice. The chicken wasn’t a big hit with me – too spicy.

Daddy put me to bed last night and we watched the movie Just Friends for the 80th time.
