A box house Holly and Ty made. |
In the normal course our week, my brother Ty hurts himself about 20 times. In his short life he is ahead of me in the following stats: most trips to the ER, most rides in an ambulance, and largest amount of time spent trying to figure out how much insurance will cover.
In the last several weeks he had RSV again. You may recall that he had it last year too. Now we are the proud owners of a panda-shaped breathing machine. Playing with the pots and pans he managed to drop the lid to a pot on his big toe…which is now black as a result. Playing in the backyard he fell and bumped his head which gave him a little bump. However, when he later woke up vomiting and could not retain his balance walking we wondered if he managed to give himself a concussion. The answer was no but we needed a trip to the ER to confirm. All of this doesn’t count the general beating he takes from running around the house and falling from time to time. Nor does this consider the near misses like at the stairs which he thinks he can just walk down. No, he hasn’t fallen down the stairs but he certainly does not appreciate the potential for that to happen. This also does not consider the times when I am responsible for his injuries…like when I try to pick him up or I hug him to the point where he loses his balance or when I just push him over because he is playing with one of my toys.
On a better note, Ty is saying more words like: bubbles, mama, dada, ball and "NO"! He loves to throw the ball to Monty and enjoys being outside and sliding down the slide on our play set. He also takes every chance he has to dump Monty's water bowl. Okay, maybe that is not on a better note but very true. I think it is funny but Mommy and Daddy don't.
This is going to be a rare post where Mommy and Daddy do not post pictures that are relevant to what was written because I gather that at some point the pictures become what Daddy likes to refer to as “evidence”. So, enjoy the irrelevant pictures of Ty and I.
