Summer is Here

Playing soccer at my Tiny Tykes sports class. I have on the pink top!

My last day of pre-school for this year. Next year I will go two days a week.

My best friend Tyler and I walking at the zoo. You can see lots of pictures of us at our "Mommy and Me" zoo class below. We did crafts, met real animals that we could touch and took several tours around the zoo.

A lot of things have ended for me recently. School ended – I was only going a day a week but I loved learning and playing with my friends. The class I was taking at the Atlanta Zoo also ended. I really enjoyed watching and learning about the different animals. My Tiny Tikes class ended. This was a sports oriented class where I learned how to play basketball, soccer, and t-ball. I am not really sure how to describe my performance in Tiny Tikes but the word “dominant” keeps popping in my head. The gym I attended for gymnastics also ended but it did so a little prematurely as the gym went out of business. I am still working on my claim for the bankruptcy court.

This weekend Daddy purchased me my first set of golf clubs. They are plastic clubs but they come in different colors which I think is appealing to most pros. On Sunday Daddy and I played golf in the backyard. Monty wanted to fetch and eat the balls but Daddy showed me that the clubs are good for more than just clubbing the balls so Monty didn’t pose too much of a problem for us. Daddy’s swing has deteriorated over the years to the point that Charles Barkley’s swing might be prettier but for now Daddy is my only teacher. We had lots of fun and someday Daddy and I will play together for real.

Are we human or are we dancer?

Grammy helped me blow bubbles and played soccer with me. I love soccer.

Daddy digs and I rake. I am also checking the consistency of the soil.

Mother's Day at Grandma Senkiewicz's house. I am sitting with Great Grandma Sophie and Aunt Lori is helping me with my food.

I love to dance and have been watching Dancing With The Stars with Mommy and Daddy. During each song, I dance around just like the competitors. Mommy and Daddy usually clap for me when I am done....at least I think Daddy is clapping for me.

Grammy came to visit the last couple of weekends which was very nice. I always have fun playing with Grammy. It wasn't all fun though. One of the weekends Grammy was here Daddy and I did a lot of yard work. I have my own rake and shovel and I helped Daddy move dirt to more or less the area Daddy wanted it. As we go through the yard Daddy teaches me the finer points of landscaping - I am studying this stuff so I know it - things like chinch bugs and manganese. Alot of people don't even know what that is.

Mother's Day was this past Sunday and we spent the afternoon with Grandma and Poppy and also Aunt Lori. I bought Mommy a present and gave her some flowers and a balloon too. I think she liked it very much.

We Have Liftoff!

A couple of days ago I had a bit of a dilemma. I didn’t want to say anything to Mommy so I waited until she left the room and I walked up to Daddy who was busy watching hockey. “Daddy, is Mommy getting bigger?” I asked. “Yes, she is” Daddy replied matter of factly as he then turned his attention back to the game. After a couple of minutes of silence I asked Daddy “why?” to which he replied “Mommy is eating more….oh, and she is pregnant”.

Pregnant huh. I didn’t know what that meant so I went to my playroom and tried to learn about pregnancy on television. My usual standby, CNBC, wasn’t terribly helpful so I started changing the channel to find the channel that would teach me about pregnancy. Of the channels I turned to: ESPN, Disney, USA, NBC, LOGO, and A&E, not a single one talked about pregnancy. As it turns out, we don’t get the channels that teach one about pregnancy.
During the intermission to the game Daddy picked me up and sat me on his lap and Mommy came and sat next to him. They explained that when two people love and care for each other very much or when two people who don’t care about each other at all have too many drinks on a Saturday night, sometimes they give each other a special hug and pregnancy occurs. Mommy and Daddy assured me that they love each other very much and they both told me that all of this means that I am going to be a big sister.
While I am very excited that I am going to be a big sister, I am still not sure if I understood their explanation. I wonder if they had sex?

Oh Monty!

As I have discussed many times, my puppy Monty is warm and lovable, and about as smart as a brick. I was eating corn on the cob the other day and when the cob fell to the floor Monty was waiting. In a single gulp he swallowed the cob. After some quick research on Google, we confirmed that corn on the cob is not terribly healthy for a dog. It was pretty late so I knew Monty’s doctor’s office was closed for the evening. We tried to make Monty vomit using various home remedies which must only work on good dogs. Either that or Monty actually likes the taste of hydrogen peroxide.

Having failed at that and with the clock ticking before the cob would cause more serious problems our options became limited on what to do next. Mommy and I quickly realized what Daddy was thinking as he stood straight up, extended his right arm, and gave a Caesar-like thumbs-down. Fortunately, Monty isn’t a gladiator and more importantly Daddy’s vote doesn’t count anyway. So Mommy loaded Monty into the car and took him to a night-time vet who gave Monty medicine to make him vomit. The medicine worked and Monty is fine again. A couple of days later he turned 5 years old.

Peter Cottontail

The egg-laying rabbit left little plastic eggs all over our yard, each of which was filled with candy. He also left a huge basket of candy and toys.

I quickly gathered up the eggs before Monty, the plastic and chocolate-eating dog with an IQ of 32 could get there first. After gathering the eggs at our house we went to Uncle Dan's and Aunt Helen’s house to gather more plastic eggs with candy. Oh what a day. I had so much fun…..and I ate a lot. But the real winner of the day was Daddy who has been eating most of my chocolate ever since.

Home Alone

Ashley, Jill and Mommy at Chateau Elan for the weekend.

Mommy went away for the weekend and left me alone to fend for myself. Actually, that is not really true. Daddy was here as well so I had to watch him too. On morning 1 of our time together I wandered out of my bed and handed Daddy my big tub of Triple Paste cream. Still sleeping in a catatonic state he was more than happy to open the can for me. Looking back on things I should have taken better advantage of the situation but instead all I asked for was the cream. I then proceeded to completely cover my neck and face in white cream scaring Daddy into thinking I was now a Marilyn Manson fan when he finally awoke.

Bath time was a little longer than normal because…well, let’s just say that Triple Paste is a darn good product and it doesn’t come off your skin right away…or your hair…or your pajamas. Daddy helped me get dressed without incident and then we went downstairs for breakfast time. After 10 ten minutes of watching the eating machine consume most of a box of cereal he decided to feed me. How nice of him to think of me after he is no longer “starving”. After breakfast time we played together, ran some errands, and eventually connected with Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Travis for dinner.

“What a good little eater you are today” said Grandma. Little did she know that I was trying to eat enough to tide me over until proper child care returned the next day.

Daddy read me some stories and I went to bed and the next day we had breakfast with Uncle Travis which was nice. When we came home we did some yard work and played with Monty and before you know it Mommy was home.

This week is Easter. As you might remember, I was not happy with my last encounter with the giant bunny in the mall. If Mommy thinks we are doing that this year she is nuts.

My trip to VA

Mommy and I went to Virginia to visit Stacey and Susan. Mommy went to Kutztown University with them years and years ago. I had a great time playing with all the kids. There was Cooper, Braeden, Joshy, and Peyton. Yes, I was the only girl but you know I thrive in those situations. They really had a hard time not staring at me. After all, I am cute!
