Ty's Baptism

Ty’s baptism was wonderful. He was a good boy, crying only a little. Pastor Scott must have taken his Vitamin S on Sunday because he was able to lug around my 23 pound brother without much issue although he did ask if there was a chiropractor in attendance during the Announcements portion of the service. I was a little shy during the service clinging to Daddy like a koala bear but I did have lots of fun back at Grammy’s and Poppa Ray’s house running around and playing with everyone.

Thank you to all of the family and friends that were part of our special day. Some of you drove quite a distance to be there and we appreciate it very much. It was very special to see so many of you that day.

Later that evening, Mommy and Daddy visited Bethlehem’s newest attraction, The Sands Casino. Had the casino been there when Daddy was in college, history might have been different for Ty and I. Maybe Daddy doesn’t meet Mommy at the Center Valley golf course on that fateful day in May, 1993. Instead, maybe he meets a part-time waitress named Cora with 4 children ages 2-5. Maybe things do work out for a reason.

Spring Break and Spring Fun

Millions of years ago the dinosaurs roamed the earth but they got too big and fat, so they all died and they turned into oil. And then the Arabs came and they bought Mercedes Benzes. Today the dinosaurs are all dead but we can visit them in museums like the Fernbank in Atlanta. My friend Tyler and I and our respective little brothers went to see them last week. We had a really good time.

Ty turned 5 months old this week. If you haven’t seen a picture lately, let’s just say that he does the Chubby Chronicles proud. Next week when he gets baptized I am looking forward to the part of the service where the pastor carries the baby around the church. Unless our pastor has bulked up recently we may have to skip that or perhaps the church has a wagon we can use.

It is interesting how Ty’s girth is cheered by family, friends, and complete strangers. Many often react by saying “he’s going to be a linebacker!!!”. People may have forgotten but I was actually bigger than Ty at this point and people would often react to me by saying “don’t worry, she will grow out of it.”

Easter

The Easter Bunny came and delivered eggs filled with candy Easter morning. Last year I commented on the logic of an egg-laying rabbit so I will not go into that again. When I went outside the eggs were scattered throughout the yard and I gathered them as quickly as possible. I am quite good at the practice of egg collection as I had some practice at school earlier in the week. At school I gathered up so many eggs that my basket was over-flowing with eggs. Don’t worry - I did not share with the other kids who did not gather them as quickly as I did. They are “my eggs” I happily declared.

For dinner we went to Grandma’s and Poppy’s house. Grandma made a wonderful dinner and we all had way too much to eat.
Ty is getting fatter by the minute. It is actually quite extraordinary. Now we play the waiting game and see if he is going to have red hair…..

Leprachaun's, teeth, and 4 months!

St. Patrick’s came on March 17th (as it always does) and gave Ty and I the chance to dress up in green. In case you cannot make out the writing on his huge gut, Ty’s shirt says “McCutie”. I went with just a little shamrock on the front of my shirt.

In one of the pictures I am holding a pillow I made at school which is where I will keep my teeth for the tooth fairy when they fall out someday. On a related note I had my first dentist appointment recently and I didn’t really like it much. Actually, I refused to let the dentist see my teeth. Mommy didn’t like the dentist either but I cannot repeat the name she called him. I guess I will see someone else next time.

Ty is now 4 months old and we celebrated things by taking an ambulance ride to the hospital where he stayed for 3 nights with the wonderful respiratory disease RSV. Fortunately he is better now.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day was very special this year as I brought Valentines to all of my friends at school. I worked very hard on them so I was very happy to share them. I also brought my teachers flowers. While I was at school I created a special Valentine for Daddy. Even Ty got into the spirit of things as you can see in the pictures.
With all of the hoopla around Valentine's Day, I informed Mommy and Daddy that I want to get married so I can get a pretty ring like Mommy and Daddy gave to each other. This morning I told Mommy and Daddy that I want to marry Ty. Mommy and Daddy told me that I would have to wait until I get older...and move to West Virginia.

Just Running Around

Ty and Grandpa watching the half-time show. Ty loved it!

Ty, Olivia, and I at the superbowl party. Dress up was a much better game than football, in my opinion.

Ty got to see Grammy because he went with Mommy to NC. NO FAIR!!!

Daddy and I at my friend Oliver's birthday party.

I apologize for the long time between posts. We have been rather busy lately. Last week I went to Oliver's birthday party at Gymboree. In an interesting turn of events, Daddy took me to the party because Mommy was out of town in North Carolina. At first I was a little shy but I got into the swing of things and had a very good time at the party. While Mommy was gone Grandma and Grandpa visited often to make sure I was still alive. I had a good time with Daddy but I was sure glad when Mommy returned from North Carolina.

Last week it was Daddy's turn to be away as he was in Florida visiting Mickey Mouse's house. Because I was such a good girl during the week, and also so he could shamelessly suck up to me because he works too much, Daddy brought back a princess lunch bag for me and also a princess coloring book. I can't wait to show my new lunch bag to my friends at school. Daddy did a lot of complaining about the flight back though. His flight was delayed and then he got to sit among 20 high school cheerleaders traveling to Atlanta for a competition. If you have any questions about Carrie Underwood now would be a good time to ask Daddy because I think he is pretty much up to speed with her life...and also her man who by all accounts is "a cutie".

This past weekend we watched the Superbowl at my friend Olivia's house. Neither Olivia or I watched much of the Superbowl but instead played with legos and other toys while most of the others watched the game. My brother Ty was completely sucked in by the halftime show - I don't know if it was the lights or the music but he was completely captivated. In case you are wondering, Ty continues to chunk up and everyone at Olivia's house was impressed with his girth. He is still not sleeping a whole lot but he is definitely smiling more.
