Summer begins!!!

The passing of Memorial Day means that the pool is open and it is a good thing because it is starting to get quite warm here. I have a new swimsuit this year and you can check out my sexy body in the pictures below. When I wasn’t swimming I was pushing my Care Bear around in its stroller.

Biffapalooza

In 2003, Lollapalooza died. In 2008, Biffapalooza was born. It was a truly wonderful evening on Saturday night. A 7 hour concert featuring at least 4 bands was held on the docks of the Harmony on the Lakes subdivision in Cherokee County. The proceeds benefited the American Cancer Society.

Mommy, Daddy, and I packed up our chairs, blankets, snacks, and some beverages and headed over to my first concert experience. I was absolutely mesmerized. I danced most of the evening and I did it in style. As the music played I felt that dancing in the general area where we were sitting was not good enough so I ran up to the docks where some of the other kids had gathered and I showed them my stuff. First, I bounced a little and then did a shifty little grinding move I learned from Mommy; then finished my steps with a little twirl. When each song ended I clapped and yelled as loud as I could and also took in a phone number or two from admirers. Nobody could understand what I was saying when I yelled but then again, I had trouble understanding many of those who were hanging out with Jim Beam, Jack Daniels, and Captain Morgan all night.

The music continued until 10pm and around this time, to Daddy’s horror, I was kicking things into high gear as the beatboxing/hip hop portion of the evening rolled around. Daddy, perhaps seeing visions of this leading to me being in a Girls Gone Wild video someday kept on grabbing me to take me back to where we were sitting. However, I would have none of it and as soon as he put me down I ran back to the stage to get my groove on.

My first concert experience was wonderful – Mommy and Daddy both have t-shirts to commemorate the evening. Thanks Uncle Biff and Aunt Megan. I can’t wait for next year.

Me and Olivia down by the schoolyard

On Saturday night we went to dinner with Uncle John, Aunt Mary, and my friend Olivia. After dinner we played just outside the restaurant – there is a little play area with shops, benches, and a gelato stand. Dinner wasn’t that filling for me so I spent a lot of time trying to eat the gravel in the play area. When I wasn’t eating the gravel I was helping Olivia gather rocks to fill our empty gelato cups. That seemed a little more productive than some of the other kids who were throwing rocks at each other. We had a lot of fun together and I hope I become as pretty as Olivia when I am 3 years old.

This is the 100th installment of The Chubby Chronicles. In light of this milestone and also because I am maturing from a baby to a little girl, Daddy says that we are going to change the name from The Chubby Chronicles to something less babyish once I drop out of the 99th percentile for weight. If that doesn’t happen by this time next year he said we will just change the name to “Kid with Weight Problem” and perhaps we will start running Lipitor ads. I told him that if I don’t have a brother or sister “in process” by then we can start running Cialis ads too. I’ll teach him to mess with me.

Lots of Stuff

I go to bed with a lot of stuffed animals – my Care Bear (Cheer Bear), Shrimpy, Chocolate Lab, Ordinary Bear, and a couple others I cannot think of right now. I also go to bed with 3 or 4 blankets – that is Mommy’s influence. I like having all of those things in my bed – it keeps me comfortable at night. When I wake up, however, much to Mommy’s dismay, I want to take everything with me. All of my stuffed animals and blankets come with or I have a melt-down. Then when it is nap time my things come to bed with me again. I have a tough time carrying everything but I do not think Mommy minds too much.

Mommy and Daddy recently taught me the word “apple”. Well, maybe it was Mommy who taught me that word because I am not learning much by watching Hell’s Kitchen with Daddy or those “Messing with Sasquatch” commercials he loves so much. Of course, now I have the skills needed to direct Mommy around the kitchen.

Big News

I spent most of the day on Friday with Grandma and Grandpa. They came over in the morning and watched me the whole day. We had lunch, went to see Great Grandma, and played most of the afternoon. I was exhausted by the time Daddy got home and I went to bed almost right away. Where was Mommy do you ask? Well, she was in Florida helping Aunt Lori pack up to move back to Georgia. And I thought Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman didn’t last long!

Puppy fun!

Here are some pictures from a couple of weeks ago when I was playing with Mr. Monty and his girlfriend Peanut.

Blueshirts give Daddy the blues

Daddy’s favorite team (the Rangers or "Blueshirts") was down by two goals yesterday and he was pretty miserable using words I had never heard of. One word in particular seemed to be used as a verb, adverb, noun, and adjective – if you take a moment to ponder it there are really not many words that can be used that way.

With Daddy so upset, I decided that for some good luck I would put on my jersey and cheer as loud as I could. My good luck worked because before we knew it the game was tied and we had plenty of momentum. Daddy hugged and kissed me after each goal. After the game was tied I left to go play on our swing-set and when I came back Daddy was crying – tears running down his face while screaming at the television “oh the humanity, why me? it is not fair!!!” Apparently, things went a little downhill after I left.

Mommy didn’t seem very fazed by this or sympathetic for that matter and told him to get a hold of himself as we walked by. As Mommy carried me upstairs to change my diaper she told me that she has seen this sobbing approximately 14 times – 13 times after the Rangers got eliminated in prior years and the other time when Aunt Lori said she was moving back in with us.

Pictures from my trip to PA

Cousin Amanda, Great Aunt Judy, and me!!!

I'm on Grandpa Cressman's lap but I wasn't in a great mood at the moment. (I wanted the straw and ice tea on the table instead of my picture taken).

Grammy and I at her house. You can also see me with my Uncle Greg reading a story and playing with balloons.

Mommy and I met with some of her high school friends. Damien, Mommy, Jess, and Susanne brought all of there kids for me to play with too!

You can see Morgan, Landon, and Zach in the pictures with me (not sure where Ethan was when the pictures were being taken??). Baby Taylor was hanging out in her bouncy seat. She is still too little to play like us big kids.

Mommy went out with Aunt Stacey one night. I think from the pictures I saw they had a good time. Maybe too good of a time. Grammy took care of me for the night.

Back from PA

I’m back from Pennsylvania. I missed my puppy and my Daddy and played with both last night and gave each of them lots of hugs and kisses. Traveling is tough work and it made me pretty tired last night. The plane ride was okay but they are a little stingy with the snacks these days. I can’t survive on a bag of peanuts. That is why I bring my own snacks with me.

My vocabulary is expanding every few days so perhaps Mommy will post a video of me soon.
