As we all know, Daddy is a very big hockey fan and he began going to hockey games as a little boy when his Daddy took him to see the Rangers at Madison Square Garden in New York. Recently, Mommy and Daddy took me to my first hockey game. We saw the Atlanta Thrashers play the Ottawa Senators and we had wonderful seats only a few rows from the ice. I was a little overwhelmed at first with all of the people cheering, the music, and the players crashing into the boards. I warmed up a little by eating a hot dog and some popcorn….and then I received a special visit from Atlanta’s mascot, Thrash, who sat with me, gave me a big hug, and took a picture with me. (I know I am special because Thrash is a good friend of mine and he got us our seats and made a point to come see me during the game. I love him)!
Many people say that hockey is tough to watch on television but is much better to watch in person. I would actually disagree with those people as I don’t like watching it on television and I don’t like watching it in person either. I got tired of watching the game pretty much after the national anthem.

Hot dogs and french fries with Daddy and Mommy. |

Thrash came to see me. He knows I am a bit scared of characters so he was careful not to get to close at first. |

I ended up touching his bird hands and slapping his beak too! He made me laugh and I am not as scared of characters now. (At least characters that I know). |
