It's Christmas time in Georgia!

This year I asked Santa for a few things – a live rabbit, hamsters, makeup, perfume, and stuffed animals.  My brother Ty asked for cars and trucks.  We left Santa some milk and cookies and also left his reindeer some food as well.  On Christmas morning Ty and I were overwhelmed with all of the gifts we received.  So overwhelmed that I actually forgot that I never received a rabbit or hamsters (because Santa and Mrs. Claus are not idiots)….and to this day I still haven’t remembered.  A skeptical reader would point out the inconsistency in me writing about things that I haven’t remembered but for purposes of this blog we will just run with it.

Grammy and Poppa Ray came to visit as did my Uncles Troy, Travis, Tim and Aunt Lorie.  It was amazing seeing everyone and we ate so much food.  If I had to rank my favorite gifts at the moment it would probably be the makeup and Build-A-Bear I received.  The makeup is glorious – I apply my super bright pink lipstick and a good helping of blue eye shadow and then I am ready to hit the streets, literally if you know what I mean.  Ty got into the act too and we put lipstick on him one day to Daddy’s dismay.  The Build-A-Bear experience is fun.  For a very unreasonable cost my Uncle Travis took me to the mall to construct my own teddy bear – I watched her get stuffed, bought her clothes and accessories, and now I love her every day.  Her name is Brittany (one of The Chipmunks)

Ty received lots of cars and trucks – he loves cars and trucks.  He also received a work bench with tools and books.  He also received a hockey stick in a not so subtle attempt to push him into sports.  Every time they play Daddy has been yelling at him to put “two hands on the stick” and Ty has been whacking the heck out of Daddy’s shins until he decides to just pick up the ball and go to another room.

After Christmas Grammy and Poppa Ray left to visit our family in North Carolina and then went home to Pennsylvania.  Troy and Travis went back to Tinsel Town and Timmy and Lorie went back to Long Island.  Daddy took down the lights outside and made mental notes (which he will forget) about what he might want to do next year with our lights.  Mommy down took down the decorations inside and so another Christmas season has come and gone.  It was great that some of us were together during the holidays and I enjoy these days immensely this time of year.  Still, I did not get to see the rest of our family in Pennsylvania and North Carolina so hopefully will see them soon.  Happy New Year to all.

Our yearly picture with Santa at Phipps Plaza in Atlanta.

You get a candy cane after you see Santa.  I am not sure how Ty earned his because all he did was cry on Santa's lap.  He should have received coal.

Christmas party at my friend Gavin's house.  We decorated cookies.    You can see Gavin to the left and the Tyler to the right and also Ty.

Ty enjoyed all the "junk" he decorated his cookie with as he licked it clean.

Our beautiful ballerina and her Christmas show for 2011

Once again I treated Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, and Poppy to a riveting performance at our ballet school’s Christmas show.   There were many different performances by little kids like me all the way through high school students.  There is a mix of costumes, music, and dance genres.  The whole show is approximately 2 hours long but my part was about 90 seconds.  I totally rocked it and then for the remainder of the show I played back stage with the other girls and ate popcorn.  At the end of the show Mommy and Daddy gave me flowers and we all went back to our house for pizza.   (Ty had to stay home with a babysitter.  He can’t sit in a chair that long and watch the beautiful dancers.  Maybe he will come see me dance one day but I do make him come every Wednesday to my ballet/tap class.  I guess that is enough support from him for now).

Thanksgiving 2011

I am thankful that my brother Ty is growing up so we can play together.

I am less thankful that Daddy is still growing up physically…and mentally.

I am thankful that I will be able to spend Thanksgiving with my family.

I am thankful that Ty and I have lots of friends to play with.

I am thankful that we will be setting up all of the Christmas lights and ornaments just after Thanksgiving.

Mommy and Daddy are thankful that I am still of the age where I want to help with this.

I am thankful that Mommy and Daddy took Ty and I to see Santa.

I will be thankful when I get everything I asked for – trucks for Ty and for me – makeup, Barbie dolls, a rabbit, and a hamster.

I am thankful Santa will get these items for us because Mommy and Daddy have maintained that they are not running a bleeping zoo.

Most of all, Ty and I are thankful for our Mommy, Daddy, and the rest of our family in Georgia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, New York, and California.

Thanksgiving pre-school songs and feast.  Don't I look thrilled?

Songs are over and now I am ready to eat with Mommy at the feast.

Big Monty wondering if he will get any leftovers.

Grandpa checking out the table before dinner.  Everyone had five paper leaves on their plate.  They had to write five things they were thankful for and then tie them to the two trees on the table.  We filled the trees pretty nicely by the end of dinner.  Lots to be thankful for in my life!

I am sort of a camera hog.  Grandma and Aunt Lori are enjoying some appetizers before turkey dinner.

I love helping Daddy cook.
