Our MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) group had an end of the summer “Messy Party” where the whole point of the party was to...well, get messy. As you can see from the pictures I got plenty messy even though I didn’t play in the mud pit. That pool you see in the picture is filled with spaghetti. I know, that is kind of disgusting.
Continuing with the development of the right side of my brain, Mommy purchased me a “color me” house. I have spent much of the past few days coloring the house and playing inside of it. We have had quite an art theme lately.

First Day of Pre-School
I loved my first day of school! It was wonderful. I made new friends, sang songs, read stories, ate my lunch, and played outside. I even passed my first exam. Can you see me holding my exam? That is actually the entrance exam for all college football players in the Southeastern Conference. Well, maybe for everyone except Vanderbilt. I am glad I passed.
Ready for my first day of pre-school this year.

Naked Artist
I wanted to try nude art for the first time but none of my friends would let me paint them nude so I decided to simply paint in the nude myself. As you can see from the pictures I have got two poses for you, “the thinker” and “the stinker.” Painting in the nude was not as exciting as I thought it would be so I decided to paint my body instead like you would see one of those freaks do on HBO’s Real Sex shows. Don’t tell Mommy I have watched that.
Speaking of painting, we had a painter come over to work on my brother’s room. She showed up late today and as a result won’t be finished until tomorrow. You have to be firm with people like this so I told her “Grandma, don’t be late tomorrow!”

Pre-School Starts Soon!
Last week Mommy and Daddy went to visit my new teachers, Ms. Inel and Ms. Marge. One is from South Africa and the other is from New Jersey. I wanted to impress my new teachers so I spent the weekend studying gold prices and watching Lethal Weapon 2. I didn’t really know what to do to learn more about New Jersey so Daddy told me to go to the pantry, stick my head in the garbage can and take a good look ….and that’s all I really needed to know about New Jersey.
With that knowledge in the bank, I went to school today to meet the teachers myself. I had a wonderful time and when it was time to go I didn’t want to leave the classroom. We will see what happens when we actually start school for real. I have a feeling that I may change my mind and throw a fit like I did last year.
In other news, Mommy and Daddy have made some progress on the baby’s room. Daddy wanted royal blue walls and red trim to match his beloved New York Rangers colors. Accordingly, the walls will be a lighter shade of blue with white trim. So all in all it was a victory for Daddy. You may be wondering but there still has been no decision yet on a name for my brother to be.

Cash For Clunkers
Daddy's 36th birthday, I mean... 29th birthday.
The "Ring Ding" cake Mommy had for Daddy's birthday was awesome.

Great Poppy's birthday party at Aunt Barb and Uncle Talmadge's house.
I had a busy week as I was gathering up all of my old toy cars and lugging them to Toys R Us to exchange them for government cash toward the purchase of new toy cars. As it turns out I wasted a lot of time this week because to my dismay when I got to the store I learned that the program only applies to big cars.
On Saturday, Mommy, Grammy, and I went to Asheville to visit Great Poppy for his birthday…not to be confused with Poppy here in Georgia or Vitamin S enriched Big Papi in Boston. Happy Birthday Great Poppy!!! - I love you.
We left Daddy at home to work on his golf swing which has caused him great frustration and stress all summer. Actually, Daddy also had a birthday recently. He turned 29 again. I gave Daddy a few beautiful pictures of myself so he could take them to work and impress people.
The wheels on the bus go round and round as school begins this week. I will be going to pre-school soon and this year I will be going 2 days per week. Mommy and Daddy are attending “Meet the Teacher” at my school later this week to see how cute my teacher is….and Daddy says they will request a new teacher if necessary.

Natural Born Lobster Killer
Daddy had one thing on this mind this trip – lobster. From the moment we landed until the day we left, Daddy ate lobster after lobster, whether it was whole lobsters or lobster rolls. The wholesale price for lobsters is currently $4 per pound which makes the crustacean cheaper than hot dogs on a per pound basis. As a result, there were several nights where we just purchased lobsters down near the water and cooked them back at the house. Daddy’s lobster consumption was truly heroic and I understand that the locals now sing a folk song about him. He was like a machine that never got full. Even Ms. Chiann’s Mommy (who is from Maine) said she had never seen someone eat so much lobster. He stopped eating each night not because he was full, but because we ran out of lobsters.
On Wednesday, we went to the Maine Lobster Festival in Rockland, Maine, a somewhat religious experience for Daddy on par with what others might experience in Vatican City, Jerusalem, or Mecca. Daddy ate more lobster there but I think he was disappointed that there was not a lobster eating contest because he had been training so hard all week.
Mommy and I got Daddy a tee-shirt to commemorate his trip to the promise-land and on the way back from Rockland we got Daddy a lobster roll at Red’s Lobster Shack which turned out to be the best lobster roll he ate all week. The lobsters can all rest a little easier now that Daddy has departed but he left a lasting impression. As Mr. Don said one night after Daddy finished eating: “Daddy 1 - Maine 0”.
Blueberries and Lobsters - Vacation in Maine
Last week we went to Maine for our family vacation. We went with my friends Donnie and Luke and their Mommy and Daddy (Ms. Chiann and Mr. Don). Maine is a beautiful place and we were lucky enough to have mostly sunshine while we were there, something that apparently hasn’t been too common this summer.
We did a lot while we were there. One day we walked around Portland and then went to the Children’s Museum in Portland which was really just a giant, multi-floor playground with lots of toys. I had lots of fun there. One day we all went to the beach. As you might remember, I hated the beach last year but I loved it this time around. I played in the sand and ran through the waves all day despite the freezing water. One day was spent at the Maine Lobster Festival. I won’t go into the details about the festival because I will mention it in the next post. We also spent a day in Kenebunk walking around. We did not run into the Bush family in case you were wondering.
Throughout the trip Mommy and Daddy ate lots of lobster and I ate lots of chicken nuggets and hot dogs. I played with Donnie and Luke and the three of us took turns having meltdowns just to try our parents’ patience a little bit.
The flight home was long. We had to land in South Carolina to refuel which turned a 3 hour flight into 6 hours. While the rest of us sat in coach Mr. Don upgraded himself to first class. I assume Ms. Chiann beat him to death when they got home.
